Files without the guesswork

Which file should you download?

Choose transparent WebP, a printable CMYK PDF, or an editable project with a clear understanding of what each one preserves.

Choose the next task, then the file

There is no single best download for every job. Use WebP when you need an image inside another layout, PDF when you need a printable page, and a project file when you want to continue editing separate shapes. Keeping an editable project alongside the final export avoids having to rebuild a design later.

WebP: a finished image with a pixel limit

The catalog WebP downloads are 2,048 × 2,048 pixels. Their transparent surroundings let a document's background show through. A checkerboard in the preview represents that empty area; it is not a pattern printed into the illustration. Choosing a preview background on an artwork page does not change the original download.

In the editor, background changes do affect your export. Keep the background transparent if you want a cutout. After downloading, place the image over a colored rectangle in your destination app to check the edges. If that app cannot import WebP, use another workflow it explicitly supports; renaming the extension to .png does not convert the file. Google's WebP documentation explains the format's transparency support.

At four inches wide, a 2,048-pixel image has 512 pixels per inch. At eight inches, it has 256. These are calculations, not guarantees about a printer. Use the print size calculator to explore your own dimensions without altering the file.

PDF: a print layout with specific color assumptions

Original catalog PDFs are laid out on US Letter. An editor export follows the paper, orientation, margins, placement, crop, and visible layers you selected. Open Print setup before exporting when you need A4 or a landscape page. Check the resulting PDF's page size in your viewer and avoid accidentally applying a second “fit” operation in the print dialog.

Our PDF pipeline converts colors for GRACoL2006 Coated1v2 and writes process CMYK vector content. The standard file limit is 1,000,000 bytes. The full ICC profile is not embedded in these small PDFs; the file records an output condition. They are not certified PDF/X files. A print shop that needs a different profile, bleed, or a PDF/X standard may require additional preparation.

Paper, ink, and printer settings affect the result. Bright screen colors can change in print, and CMYK does not mean every printer will produce an identical match. For a color-sensitive job, ask the printer about its requirements and request a proof. The International Color Consortium's workflow guidance explains why output conditions and destination profiles matter.

Project files: keep the decisions, not just the appearance

Use Save project before closing a design you may want to revise. Reopen it with Open saved project in the editor. That copy keeps editable layers and settings. WebP flattens the appearance into pixels, and importing a finished PDF back into editable layers is not supported here.

Recovery is saved in the current browser when storage is available. It is not a cloud backup or a shared account. A different browser, cleared site data, or a private browsing session may not retain it. Download a project file to keep a separate copy, especially before opening another starter.

Check the final result

Open the exact file you downloaded. Confirm its background, crop, caption, and orientation. PDF captions use Helvetica-compatible Latin text; their appearance can differ slightly from the browser preview. Unsupported characters or effects may stop PDF export with an explanation. If you see an error, correct the source or choose a supported format rather than assuming a file was created.

The artwork license applies to both formats and to edited versions of our illustrations. Changing the extension, color, or crop does not create commercial permission. Your own original work made on a blank canvas remains yours.
